Raised in an environment steeped in artistic tradition, Xu Xiaoyang developed a lifelong passion for calligraphy and painting from an early age. His artistic repertoire spans figure painting, “flower-and-bird” motifs, and calligraphy. Notably, his renditions of “Galloping Horses” capture the quintessential spirit and vigor of his grandfather’s legacy. Critics have praised his work for masterfully fusing Chinese and Western painting techniques, reaching a sophisticated new realm of artistic expression.

Currently, Mr. Xu holds several prestigious positions, including:

  • Director of the Xu Beihong Art Museum
  • Chairman of the Xu Beihong Art Salon
  • Executive Director of the Xu Beihong Art Foundation

He has long been dedicated to the systematic organization, connoisseurship, and international promotion of Xu Beihong’s body of work. Beyond organizing high-level exhibitions featuring Xu Beihong and his disciples across China, he is a proactive advocate for the digitization of art. He actively explores the application of “Digital Chinese Painting” in aesthetic education for the younger generation, bridging traditional heritage with modern technology.
