Xiangzi Huang

Huang Xiangzi is a post-80s emerging artist, bestselling author, and architect. He graduated from the Department of Architecture at the College of Civil Engineering and Architecture, Fuzhou University. With an interdisciplinary approach, he advances the evolution of abstract painting language through curves, layered color fields, and energetic lines. His work investigates the formation of consciousness, the origin of the world, and the boundaries of human perception, developing a distinctive and continuously expanding personal visual system.

The exhibited work is Blue Horse from the Miracle series.

The horse inherently carries an energy of speed, passage, and invocation—an impulse toward crossing and calling. The color blue, however, lends this force a deeper spiritual temperature: restrained, lucid, and quietly serene, like the stillness of night.

Rather than rendering the horse as a recognizable figurative image, Huang Xiangzi allows its power to enter the painting through abstraction: as the thrust of lines, the push and pull of color fields, and the breathing rhythm of dotted pulses. Thus, Blue Horse feels both like a forward charge and like a beam of light rising from within— the faster it moves, the closer it comes to stillness.
