Zhou Wei
Zhou Wei is a famous erhu performer, composer, National First-Class Performer, and recipient of the Special Government Allowance of the State Council. He has successively served as Executive Vice President and Secretary-General of the Erhu Society of the Chinese Musicians Association, Director of the National Orchestra of China Oriental Song and Dance Ensemble, Artistic Director of China Oriental Performing Arts Group, and Chief Artistic Officer of Wanda Culture Group. He is also a Judge for Senior Professional Titles of the Ministry of Culture, a Judge for the Special Government Allowance of the State Council, and an Artistic Director of State Banquet Galas. He holds the position of Visiting Professor at the Central Conservatory of Music, China Conservatory of Music, Nanjing University of the Arts, Wuhan Conservatory of Music, Xi’an Conservatory of Music, and Shenyang Conservatory of Music, and serves as Chairman of the China Committee of the European Musicians Association. His works such as “Grapes Ripe”, “Indo-Pak Rhapsody”, “Ningxia Plain, a Wonderful Place”, and “Xiaoxiang Rhapsody” are widely popular at home and abroad. He has successfully held large-scale solo concerts such as “Chinese String Poetry”, “Southern Nights”, and “Strings Vibrate in Athens”, visited more than 70 countries and regions, and completed performances for many major state affairs tasks and the opening ceremonies of Cultural Years. He is known as the “Erhu Ambassador”.
