with a great focus on egg tempera painting

Favorite Themes:

Exploring the wonders of creation and nature, experiencing them first-hand through playful, creative work, and then communicating about them – these are the motivations behind my artistic work.

My preferred painting technique is egg tempera painting. I mix my own colours from egg, water, linseed oil varnish,clove oil and colour pigments. This makes it possible to create different consistencies, from the transparency of watercolour to the heavy density of oil painting. Egg tempera painting allows layers of paint of different consistencies to be superimposed on each other, creating a depth effect in the picture.

This ancient painting technique, which was used primarily for icon painting before oil painting, is particularly fascinating due to its extraordinary luminosity and the silky matt sheen of the colours.

I enjoy oscillating between the worlds of visible reality and my dream world. Like the egg and the colour pigments, these two worlds then also mix together.
