Martin Rohsmann
My name is Martin Rohsmann, I was born in 1955 in Palma di Mallorca.
My mother was the swedish film actress Ulla Jacobsson. She was pregnant with me in 1955 during Ingmar Bergman’s film ” Smiles of a Summer Night ” My father is the dutch artist and painter Frank Lodeizen.
At the age of three I came to Vienna where I completed my schooling and graduated from high school 1974. After that I attended the Academy of fine Arts in Vienna and studied also for two years at the Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam.
1985 I attended the Social Academie and from 1987 onward I worked at Jugend am Werk. This is an organization that supports and accompanies people with disabilities.
From the very beginning I established there a theatergroup and worked out a concept for an art group for this institution.
Some of the artist group became quite succesful and got international prices…
Since 2020, I have been retired and my focus is on my own painting. I have gone through various phases in my artistic development, ranging from abstract to figurative painting.
What does me interest most are faces and pictures of the human being.
