ManMan Deng
ManMan Deng is a contemporary artist, independent designer, and the founder of QiaWuTing Art Lab. After graduating from Pratt Institute in New York in 2019, she has developed a diverse practice encompassing painting, installation, film, and ceramics, underpinned by rigorous theoretical research.
Deng’s recent work centers on the resistance of “human intuition” against contemporary “aesthetic arrogance.” She employs a language that is at once playful, authentic, and charged with vital energy to deconstruct and reconfigure stagnant aesthetic clichés.
As a female artist, she is sensitive to the micro-perspectives often overlooked in historical narratives; however, she maintains that art should possess an “eye beyond humanity.” She advocates for a de-gendered and post-anthropocentric expression, seeking to achieve a sense of universal benevolence within a cosmic framework. Furthermore, her profound interest in the intersection of technological innovation and art drives her to constantly explore the possibilities of the painterly language—moving beyond “reality and imagination” into a trans-temporal collaboration of existence.
