Jiujie Zhao

Zhao Jiujie, Born in 1963 in Ulanhot, Inner Mongolia, of Manchu ethnicity. He is a renowned contemporary Chinese oil painter and educator. He is currently an Associate Professor at the School of Architecture, Xiamen University; a Member of the China Artists Association; a Council Member of the China Oil Painting Society; and Vice Director of the Oil Painting Art Committee of Fujian Province.

He graduated from the Oil Painting program, Department of Fine Arts, Inner Mongolia Normal University.

Zhao Jiujie’s artistic practice emphasizes the integration of innovation and personal experience, distinguished by a minimalist lyrical quality and a Zen-inspired mode of expression. His works have been repeatedly selected for national exhibitions and have received awards, and are collected by institutions both in China and abroad.
