Grace Marta Latigo

Grace Marta Latigo (* February 21 , 1967 in Bratislava) is an Austrian author, conceptual and performance artist, painter and human rights activist.
Life
Grace Marta Latigo was born in 1967 in what was then Czechoslovakia . Her mother was Slovak , and her father was from Uganda . She moved to Vienna with her family in 1981 at the age of 14.
When residency regulationsin Austria changed in 1992 after the dissolution of Czechoslovakia, her visa was not renewed. This was followed by seven years of living illegally, which provided fertile ground for Latigo’s social and humanitarian activism.
Grace Marta Latigo also appears as a painter, actress and stand-up comedian and writes regularly for the Viennese street newspaper Augustin.
