Parizad Farzaneh
Parizad Farzaneh views art as a form of rebellion and a quiet act of resistance against rigid norms. Poetically, it reveals to her the longings, fragility, and strength that find their voice through colors and forms. She brings her life experience, sensuality, and vulnerability into her art, thereby opening spaces for reflection and empathy.
After completing her Master’s degree at the University of Tehran, Faculty of Fine Arts, as well as earning a diploma from the College of Interior Architecture in Vienna, Parizad Farzaneh actively began engaging in the fields of fine art, photography, and design.
Her photographs and paintings are characterized by strong emotional contrasts between aesthetics and pain, through which she conveys her personal perspective on the delicate balance of intercultural imagery. In doing so, she strives for an increasing harmony among the depicted elements.
Across all media, her diverse body of work reflects a critical view of contemporary human concerns, the necessity of environmental protection, and the current political and social situation.
She has participated in numerous exhibitions and has received several grants and awards, including the BVBKÖ Art Award for Painting and Photography, the award for Best Contemporary Photo Series in Iran, and an award for Best Short Story. She currently directs and curates the feminist cultural association ega: Frauen im Zentrum and is also pursuing studies in Cultural Management and Gender Studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (mdw).
